My Halloween Costume Starter Kit is the magic potionfor busy, fun-loving gals (and guys!) who want to shortcut the endless Pinterest search and crafting marathon to find the perfect costume. It’s also perfect for those who want to avoid canned costumes from Amazon.
There has to be a better option. This is it!
This bundle of Halloween costume planners helps you do 2 necessary things for your costuming success:
Generate a creative idea that’s perfect for you
Follow a plan to bring your idea to life. This includes calendar planner pages so you'll stay on track and look amazing for your party — no stress allowed.
Are you determined to whip up a dynamite, unique Halloween costume this year, but you're already stressing, dreading that your size will be sold out on Amazon by the time you decide what you want to be? Or worse yet, it has a December delivery date? Wow, yep I've seen that before. Um, no Amazon!
I know what it’s like to look around for the perfect costume for me. I want something that works for short gals and flatters me, but doesn't look cheap and cheesy, and doesn’t make ME look cheap and cheesy! It’s not an easy mission, y’all.
But that’s how canned costumes are, and they're definitely not unique. And I don’t have time or budget to look at expensive rentals. Sure it might look and feel amazing, but I want something I can repurpose into something else later, not return it on November 1.
But the good news is … that doesn’t have to be you!
Are you feeling like…
You're ready to pull off something amazing this year in spite of the crazy busy life you lead
You have a Pinterest board full of cool ideas, but you don't have time for the sewing or crafting required (make it simple please!)
The canned stuff on Amazon is cheaply made and never looks like the photo because it isn’t. The model in the photo is wearing a nicely-made prototype, not the mass-produced one you’ll be receiving. (SPOILER ALERT)
Well, my Halloween Costume Starter Kit is just what you need!
I specifically created the Halloween Costume Planner tohelp you plan out a costume that’s perfectly appropriate for you and your event, to sketch it out ahead of time, list all the things you need to pull it together AND even document it after you wear it out and about.
After you go to all this effort, you'll want to save all the details so you won't need to reinvent the wheel next time you wear it.
The last page of the planner has a list of 50+ creative Halloween costumes to get you started, plus space to brainstorm your own ideas.
So that's the magic of the Halloween Costume Planner! It will have you organized before AND after your event!
and then …
The second item in this bundle is my revolutionary Halloween Costume Generator. It’s my secret weapon in consistently coming up with unique, fun, perfect-for-me costumes.
This is the method to my madness! It’s a bit of Mad Libs style plug-and-play system to come up with a costume idea that’s uniquely suited to you!
At the end I give you some non-canned ways to bring your ideas to life.
I’ve got you covered.

I created this system from scratch from my own observations, research and years of attending various costume-themed gatherings. I am to the point in my life where if a party doesn’t list a costume theme as well as the what-when-where info, I think I’ve missed something lol. I have collected 16 years worth of idea gathering into this one magical costume generator.
I have never seen anything like this; it’s my creation — 100% original!
What do other people have to say about my creative costuming?
Hi, I’m Sheri!
I love creating one-of-a-kind stylish costumes that work perfectly for me AND the event I’m attending.
I love sharing my love of costumes and willingness to wear them to non-costume events with other costume-loving friends. It’s a fabulous #costumelife! Wanna join?
I created these costume tools because I know that getting started with costuming and taking it to the next level can be tricky. You don’t want cheap canned stuff from Amazon but you don’t want the spendy gorgeous rentals either. This is the best of both worlds!
How did I get here?
I did not dress up in Halloween costumes as a child because my dad’s birthday was on Halloween and that was always reserved for nice family dinners. My first time trick-or-treating was 12th grade! I was a snowflake with a poster board and glitter costume I had made. I'm an artsy type so it came out pretty well.
Fast forward 20 years (with no costuming) and I was headed to my first Burning Man with no clue what to wear. A friend let me look in her costume closet and pull a few things out so I didn’t look like the newbie I was. And that got me hooked. I’ve built my collection and refined my style and tastes over years of going to white dinners, Santa pub crawls, wine walks, red dress runs, costume-themed campouts, fundraising galas, cruises and even costume parties!
I believe that anyone can create a unique, fabulous costume without spending a ton of money, or getting lost in a Pinterest hole, or sewing a hole in their finger or burning themselves with a hot glue gun.
Here are a few of my favorite things: dark chocolate with red wine, faux fur animal prints, sequins, dressing up in fun costumes with fun friends for parties, wine walks and campouts … and my kitties.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I’ve got As for your Qs
Can I just search Amazon for a Wonder Woman costume?
Of course you can! There's nothing difficult or unique about buying a canned costume. It's usually cheap stuff from China. How many other Wonder Woman costumes will be at your party? (There's nothing wrong with WW; I'm a huge fan btw!) Or you can grab this Halloween Costume starter kit and be on your way to standing out from the crowd and parade around in a truly unique costume you can be proud of — and feel comfortable in.
Can't I find something good at a costume shop?
Yep, probably so. It won't be unique or inexpensive, and if you're renting, you won't get to keep it and reuse the pieces again and again. If you want to build a costume collection, you'll want to keep your masterpiece. The ideas this will help you generate are probably not available in costume shops anyway.
Is this appropriate for kids costumes?
Yes! The Costume Generator can yield thousands of options and plenty of them would be appropriate for kids. The Costume Planner has a generic male, female and child shape so you'll be able to print whichever pages you need. Kids are brilliantly creative and may come up with their own ideas that will knock your socks off. Be ready to support their creative ideas rather than squash them because you don't know how to pull it off.
How is this different from cosplay?
Cosplay usually refers to recreating a specific named character like a superhero or character from a book or movie. My approach can work for cosplay, but it's more geared toward general creatures, like a butterfly, mermaid, pirate etc.
I'm too old for this and don't feel comfortable wearing what I would want to wear.
Nonsense, no one is too old or too young to dress up! You're just out of the habit of doing it from when you were younger. I have friends from 30s to 70s who dress up and have a fabulous time doing it. I am early 50s and have been playing with costuming for 15 years with no end in sight. There are always modifications you can make to your costume choices so you feel "age appropriate."
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the digital nature of the materials you'll be receiving I do not offer refunds. After reading this page, you should have a pretty clear idea of what you'll be getting and what it can do for you if you use it. If you get stuck on anything and want to email me for advice or support, I will happily give you guidance, time permitting.
